As an umbrella organisation we work in close cooperation with members and other organisations in achieving common objectives that would be difficult to achieve by those organisations working independently.

We promote positive news and comment in changing attitudes of people with or without disabilities and their organisations so that people with disability are treated with respect and enjoy equal rights as citizens throughout Sri Lanka .

We lobby and make representation to Central and Local Government other relevant organisations and bodies to achieve accessible facilities for all sectors of disability. This includes access to the built environment, transport, information, income generation, sports and recreation etc.

We support and activate Government legalisation written in favour of people with disability and lobby for making appropriate amendments that would be discriminatory to people with disabilities.

We lobby for repeal to amend all legalisation that is discriminatory or restrictive to people with disabilities.

We work for the inclusion of people with disabilities in the National, Regional and Local decision-making process.

Through workshops and other relevant activities to bring to the attention of people with disability and others, their rights and entitlements under the National Policy for Disability.

We achieve the above by organising and participating in various networking and pressure groups – by direct lobbying to Government, other influential and decision making bodies – as well as conducting workshops and other relevant activities on the rights and entitlements of people with disability.
